We can
and do work anywhere, having run programmes all over the U.K. and abroad,
including Finland, Singapore and Switzerland. Venues are also very flexible,
ranging from quality hotels, through company training facilities to self catered
bunk barns for some team events - once a fleet of canal boats, which was
surprisingly comfortable and very memorable!
Development
Programmes
We
have designed and delivered modular management development programmes for a
number of clients*. Such programmes last anything from 6 months to 2 years, with
participants meeting every six to eight weeks for a two day workshop. This provides structure and flexibility, allowing people to
develop at their own pace with peer and line manager support. Each
workshop is an incremental step in the development process, and they are linked
accordingly. On each workshop, delegates write an individual action
plan on how they intend to implement the learning from the module, and at the
next workshop report back to their colleagues on progress, successes and
problems encountered. This encourages individuals to take responsibility for
their own development, to support others in their efforts and to learn from each
other. These programmes
often contain an outdoor element to help learning and bonding within the group.
Actual
modules will vary according to organisational and individual needs, but a
typical programme might include the following modules:
Leadership,
Team-working, Communication, Feedback and Motivation, Self Management,
Problem Solving, Dealing with People, Meeting Skills and Change. And many more....
*Clients
who have benefited from this approach include McCain
Foods, Cumbria
Contract Services and SGS International.
Action
Learning
Some
programmes have also been extended to include a work based action learning project
completed by the
delegates either during or after the programme. This further improves cross
functional working, helps participants to relate the programme learning to and
make a real impact on organisational objectives. To ensure success, such
projects need to be carefully planned, integrated with the programme and
championed by senior management. An alternative is to work on a project outside
work, as outlined below.
Learning from Projects
Learning
by doing, or experiential learning is at the heart of all our programmes,
and another vehicle for this can involve trainees in real
life projects in a "Challenge Anneka" type event. See more on
this by clicking here.
