Our values are about individuals having worth and ability, which if constructively developed and effectively harnessed can enhance personal career satisfaction and corporate success.

Formed in 1989 and incorporated in 2004, Goodwill Training are proud of what they have achieved, but are still looking forward to find new ways of helping clients, combining the best traditional training with new and exciting learning events and methodologies.

Some of our team are introduced below, more will follow when they overcome their shyness!

Why Use Goodwill Training?

Goodwill Training are a team of training and development specialists, who combine the best of traditional techniques with the latest ideas in the field of learning and development, including accelerated and blended learning.

We will help your leaders, managers, individuals and teams to become more effective, motivated, confident and liberated, so that they can contribute more to your organisation.

We do this by designing and facilitating innovative, enjoyable and challenging learning events. People are encouraged to examine their experiences and behaviour, and to learn from these. They then decide how to improve and commit to action.

Goodwill Training are a Yorkshire based company, small enough to care and provide a prompt, personal and genuinely bespoke service, but big enough to make a real difference.

The Goodwill Training Team

Founder and Managing Director, Steve Goodwill has been a trainer and consultant for over twenty years, specialising in the development of interpersonal skills such as Leadership, Influencing, Team Working, Negotiations and Problem Solving. Stephen has worked with all levels of Management from Board members to Supervisors and with front line operators. He has worked with a variety of companies and with the NHS and other public organisations, in the UK, Europe and the Far East. His career has included commissioned service in the Royal Marines, Development Training, Systems Consultancy and Operations Management. Stephen has developed a number of long term modular programmes with some major organisations, where the "little and often" approach to learning has proved very effective. He is particularly interested in the effective and ethical uses of the outdoors in development training and has written two books on the subject. In his spare time he enjoys family time, outdoor activities and coaching junior rugby. He is listed on or contributes to the following networking sites:

Companies would do well to remember the England cricket team's drubbing Down Under when filling leadership roles and maintaining performance, argues David Bolchover

Reports and pictures from recent courses.

Associate, Andie Brazewell has worked with VSO in Tanzania, where he was Project Manager designing and developing vocational courses and renovating the national vocational training centre. Prior to this, he was Centre Manager for a management training company and then Training Manager for a company organising overseas research programmes. He has a keen interest in developing the use of real projects for training purposes. He is also a keen scuba diver, para-glider and mountaineer.

Currently studying at Northumbria University, Sarah Goodwill is already taking a strong interest in Goodwill Training. She has provided support on some courses, and contributed significantly to marketing initiatives. A former national champion and now a qualified judge and coach in Rhythmic Gymnastics and a netball coach, Sarah is active in the Student's Union and runs sports classes for schools in her spare time.

We use outdoor activities to complement some of our development training programmes and these are designed to enhance the learning processes. We do not normally provide them for individuals or groups to "have a go." However, we do have a number of trusted associates who can provide just such a service, providing safe and professional outdoor events. Call us for recommendations. For example, if you would like an experienced mountaineer to guide you on a hill walk or to learn or hone your navigation skills, we strongly and confidently recommend Paul Shorrock at Hillcraft.

IT Training is not something we provide, but we recommend the services of Hall Training, who deliver some of the best e-learning we have tried. They provide structured and certificated programmes, which manage to incorporate some of the best practices of tutor facilitated training with practical, on-line modules.

H&S - Health and Safety Training is another area outside our range, but we have found a small, experienced and very flexible organisation who offer an excellent service - call Kevin Nunns at HS Dept.
